Episode 10
Here is a quick and simple rundown of how I like to make wrist corsages for wedding work! I typically use elastic wristbands (unless the couple requests otherwise) and a combination of wire, glue, and moss mechanics. This system has been honed in over the years (and is sometimes tweaked for specific styles) but gives a consistent look AND quality to my designs!
Episode 09
While there are MANY factors to be considered when deciding whether to start your own business in wedding flowers, this chat mainly covers the differences in being the owner of a floral design company vs working as a floral designer! As the owner/CEO you will wear many hats, and be in charge of LEADING your company. You need to be willing to do this (even if you are still learning & growing as we all are) as the owner! Running a business is not all about designing, prepping stems, and building centerpieces all day after all ;) Listen in and see which parts of this resonate with you—let that help guide you to your true purpose and find the correct role in the floral design industry!

Episode 08 | Quoting wedding flower orders WITHOUT your money mindset blocks getting in the way | September 17, 2024
A lesson I learned in business was that MY mindset about money was blocking me from best serving my client!!
If a price quote felt like “a lot” to ME I was watering down the order, pricing to the budget, and not giving the couple the chance to spend for their DREAM vision! You should feel confident in your pricing strategy, the value of your product/service, and not be afraid to send that quote!!
It is our job to educate the client, and if their vision costs more than their budget, it is our job to communicate that to them—not to low-ball, water-down, and reign-in their vision. Since realizing how this was happening in my business, I’ve practiced better communication in our consultations. I let the couple know that I can quote to their VISION or to their BUDGET, and 100 percent of the time the couple wants to know the price for their dream vision!

Episode 05
If you put yourself into a box as “not a naturally creative person” you will create a self-fulfilling prophecy. But what if you could believe that you can practice and become more creative in your business?? Because you totally CAN.
Creativity comes in many forms, but what most people immediately think of is the artful side—matching colors, creating textures, and working with the elements and principles of design. While this is all imporant, it is ALSO all SUBJECTIVE. Hone in on your creativity in BUSINESS (how to set up systems, how to solve problems, how to structure client interactions) to start running a business that makes bank and does NOT make you crazy, and let your artistry and design style develop and change over time!
